Where just a bunch of home brewers from a couple of the local clubs that got tired of trying to schedule events that did not conflict (or conflicted with as few as possible) with events from the other clubs.
One of out members started putting all the events onto a wall calendar that he carried with him.  Since he attended the meetings of several of the local clubs, that worked reasonably well.  Unless, of course, he missed a meeting.
So we got to thinking that an online site where each club could maintain a list of their upcoming events, making some publicly available (such as monthly meetings), and some private to the group members only.  This site evolved out of that idea.
